How to add music to a video
- Choose the video, then the song (MP3, M4A, WAV).
- Drag the handles on the video's filmstrip to where the music starts and stops, or type the times.
- Drag the handle on the song's waveform to the part you want, like the chorus.
- Set the video's own sound (0% replaces it) and the music's volume, and fade in or out if you like.
- Press "Play with music" to hear it with the video, then "Add music" to save it.
Music you may use
Instagram, TikTok and YouTube mute or block videos with music the owner hasn't allowed. Use music you made, music with a license that allows it, or the platform's own music library when you post. Adding the song here doesn't change those rules.
Your files stay on your device
Nothing is uploaded. The music is mixed in your browser, so your video never leaves your device.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Short answers about how this tool works on your device.
Can I use a voice-over I recorded?
Yes. Record it with any voice recorder, choose it as the second file and set "Video's own sound" to 0% and "Music" to 100%. This page starts that way.
Can the music start in the middle of the video?
Yes. Drag the handle on the video's filmstrip, or type the time in "Music starts at". Before that moment the video keeps only its own sound. You can also stop the music before the end.
Can I use only part of a song?
Yes. Drag the handle on the song's waveform to where it should begin, and the other one to where it should end. With "Repeat" on, that part plays again until the music stops.
Will the video lose quality?
No. The picture is copied as it is (H.264 and HEVC videos); only the sound is made new. Other kinds of video are encoded to H.264.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Everything runs in your browser, so your files stay on your device. Nothing is uploaded.
Is Snipmill free?
Yes. Snipmill is free to use and needs no account.
Is there a watermark?
No. We never add a watermark.
