Record your screen

Record your screen, one window or a browser tab, with your voice if you like. No app to install, and the video stays on your device.

New screen recording

The recording is made on your device. Nothing is uploaded.

How to record your screen

  1. Press "Start screen recording" and choose the whole screen, a window or a browser tab. Turn on "Share audio" there to record the sound too.
  2. Do what you want to show; talk along if the microphone is on. Stop here, or with the browser's own Stop sharing bar.
  3. Watch it, then download it or take it on: trim the start, compress it for email, or make a GIF.

Good to know

Recording a single tab keeps notifications and other windows out of the video. Chrome and Edge can record a tab's sound; whether the whole screen's sound can be recorded depends on the browser and the system.

Your browser picks the format: MP4 in Safari and recent Chrome, WebM in others. Convert to MP4 makes a WebM play everywhere.

Phones don't let websites record the screen; use the phone's own screen recorder, then bring the video here.

Your videos stay on your device

Nothing is uploaded. The video is recorded by your browser and kept only on your device until you save it.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Short answers about how this tool works on your device.

Is there a time limit?

No. The video is kept in your browser's memory while you record, from a few MB to about 20 MB per minute, depending on what is on screen, so very long recordings need a computer with enough memory.

Is my recording uploaded?

No. It is recorded in your browser, so it stays on your device. Nothing is uploaded.

Is Snipmill free?

Yes. Snipmill is free to use and needs no account.

Is there a watermark?

No. We never add a watermark.
