Trim a video
Cut off the parts you don’t want, right on your device. Most videos are ready in a second or two, because nothing is uploaded.
Your file stays on your device. Nothing is uploaded.
How to trim a video
- Choose a video (MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV).
- Play it and pause where the clip should start, then press "Use current time" under Start. Do the same for the end. You can also type times like 1:05.5.
- Press "Trim video", check the preview and download the MP4.
Fast and exact
We copy the untouched part of your video as it is, so quality stays the same and long videos are done in seconds. Only the few frames right at each cut are re-encoded, so the cut lands exactly where you set it, not on the nearest key frame.
Your video never leaves your device
Trimming runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, so it works for private videos and on slow connections.
Frequently asked questions
Does trimming lower the quality?
In most browsers, no: the part you keep is copied without re-encoding, and only the frames right at the cut points are encoded again. Browsers without a built-in video encoder re-encode the clip at high quality.
Can I trim an iPhone video (MOV, HEVC)?
Yes. iPhone videos work, and you get an MP4 back.
Is there a watermark or a length limit?
No watermark and no length limit. Files up to 2 GB work on desktop Chrome and Edge, 1 GB on desktop Safari and 500 MB on phones.
